[Submit & Register] Call For Papers
Call for papers
Comprehensive guidelines on abstract and full paper submission requirements, peer review procedures and conference publication pathways.
Call for Abstracts and Papers
All ICC 2027 publications follow the official ICA regulations. Accepted abstracts and papers that are revised to address reviewers’ comments will be published in one of the ICA series.
The International Cartographic Association (ICA) invites you to submit your research, practical applications, and experiences in cartography and GIScience to the 33rd International Cartographic Conference (ICC 2027), which will be held from 18 to 23 July 2027 in Warsaw, Poland.
The conference aims to demonstrate the importance of both technological and social aspects in the development of cartography. We want to emphasize the importance of cooperation between surveyors and geographers, technologists and analysts, historians and visionaries. These boundaries are becoming increasingly blurred, shaping a new image of the cartographer and the GIScience specialist.
As we navigate an era defined by information, our conference theme – “Big Data Cartography: Understanding More Than Ever Before”- seeks to bridge technological innovation and social impact while keeping human knowledge and expertise at the center. We invite the world’s leading scientists and experts to present their research on the past, present, and future of our world through the use, analysis, and presentation of spatial big data. All other topics traditionally covered by ICC in the fields of cartography and GIScience are, as always, warmly welcome.
The conference will bring together not only cartographers and GIS experts, but also researchers, innovators, and industry leaders from geoinformatics, computer science, smart cities, defense, transportation, telecommunications, and other fields where maps and digital representations of the world play a critical role.
ICC 2027 in Warsaw will go beyond traditional boundaries, creating a platform where cartography connects disciplines, industries, and ideas.
Join us in Warsaw to explore how cartography is shaping the future of understanding our world.
Submission & Review Guidelines
We are pleased to share the ICC 2027 Call for Submissions!
In the Call below you will find details regarding key dates, conference fees, topics, and the publication workflow.
Format: Abstracts (1–2 pages) or full papers (8 pages) in English. Templates: Submissions must follow the official ICA templates. Presentation: Accepted works will be presented in English as either an oral presentation or a poster.
Every submission will be evaluated by at least two field experts based on relevance to cartography and GIScience, the conference topics, scientific originality, community interest, documentation of prior work, clarity, technical correctness, and language quality. Presenting authors must register for the conference to confirm their participation in the official program.
All ICC 2027 publications follow the official ICA regulations. Accepted abstracts and papers that are revised to address reviewers’ comments will be published in one of the ICA series.
Authors of abstracts recommended for the Proceedings of the ICA have the choice to either expand their work into an 8-page full paper or publish it as-is in the Abstracts of the ICA; all other accepted abstracts will be published in the Abstracts of the ICA.
Accepted full papers will appear in either the Proceedings of the ICA or the Advances of the ICA. Authors of selected papers accepted for the Advances or the Proceedings series will be invited to submit their work to the official journal of the ICA International Journal of Cartography, as well as the original journals of the ICA: the Cartographic Journal, the Cartography and Geographic Information Science, and Cartographica.
